A Children’s Bedroom
The brief for this scheme was a room “fit for a princess” that would take her from five years old through to her teenage years.
The owner’s country manor house is a beautiful Listed building with extremely sloping original floorboards that necessitated bespoke furniture. To accommodate this the wardrobe was built with a sloping plinth, the bed legs created in layers and every item has the ability to be adjusted should the furniture be moved to a location with a straight floor!
The client wanted colour and individual style, and our starting point was the beautiful and original pelmet fabric. Bespoke pieces were designed, built and hand painted to coordinate. The four poster bed was created as the centre piece for the scheme, and within the framework a hidden lighting channel was created to house an overhead reading light with a switch on the bedpost. The curtains were hung on inset poles and fully functioning to create a magical hideaway.
